A layered, detailed Pineau d’Aunis. Lavender and pepper with ethereal boysenberry notes and elegant, flexible tannins. This will reward some time in bottle but a quick decant will also make this perfect to enjoy now. Once it opens up it’s irresistible and beautiful. Serve cool when the sky is blue and the leaves have changed.
100% whole cluster with 10 weeks of maceration. It’s aged 8 months in fiberglass, with 20ppm sulfur added after malolactic fermentation finishes.
Grown on clay, limestone and flint soils. This wine is arguably the top wine made at the domaine. Old vines of Pinot d’Aunis ranging from 55-years-old to 120-years-old, with the latter planted on their original rootstock. Ariane Lesne spent several decades working in the wine business before finally venturing out on her own winemaking operation.
