Blueberry pie, black currants, clove, sage, cinnamon bark, cardamom, and both black and green olives. Medium-plus bodied and very approachable in its youth.
Hand-harvested at night, grapes are then hand-sorted and destemmed. A 5-day cold soak is followed by a native yeast fermentation in stainless steel. After aging 15 months in 20% new barriques, the wine is racked and blended, then bottled unlined and unfiltered.
Tres Pinos Creek is managed by the Stiletto family. The vineyard is sustainably and organically farmed and is a higher-altitude, east-facing terrace plot on free-draining gravel and silt subsoils.
