Zabala brings a light, floral freshness. Olson offers a rich undercurrent on the palate. Eden Rift brings a deep tension and structure. A full spectrum of blue, black and red fruits. Overripe plums, roasted nori, chaparral and tarragon.
Hand-harvested at night. 45% whole cluster and native yeast fermented. Wine was aged 15 months in 10% new oak barriques. Bottled unlined and unfiltered.
Planted in 1972, Zabala is one of Monterey County’s oldest vineyards, with deep, free-draining dried riverbed soils. Olson is so close to the ocean, and such a marginal climate vineyard that yields a singular, wild, and compelling wine. Eden Rift is an incredibly complex, rugged site first planted in 1849. Sustainably and organically farmed.
