This wine pours a deep ruby hue and offers pure, layered, red-fruited aromas along with pine and pencil shaving. The palate reveals fine tannins with outstanding refinement of structure, notes of ripe redcurrant, gravelly earth, and forest herbs, and fresh acidity throughout.
Gentle extraction and pressing and native yeast fermentation in concrete. Aged 36 months in 40% new French oak.
Sourced from Peter Martin Ray Vineyard (Santa Cruz Mountains AVA), Paratus Vineyard (Mt. Veeder AVA), and Black Ridge Vineyard (Santa Cruz Mountains AVA). Grown on shale and volcanic soils and sits at over 1200ft elevation.
