Tart cranberries, currants, lemon rind and leather lead the palate of this dry red wine. The nose is subtle, with red fruits offset by sage and thyme. Grippy but well-integrated tannins on the long, almost savory finish.
Grapes were harvested by hand. Cold maceration for 7 to 10 days. Fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Wine is racked and put back into tank where malolactic fermentation is carried out. 50% of the wine matured for 12 months in large, 1500L & 3000L French oak barrels. 30% in 225L barrels for 12 months. 20% in stainless steel tanks.
