Aromas of crushed red rose, cherry, lightly herbal scents of oregano and wild sage. Medium-bodied red wine with darker fruit tones on the palate, ripe plum, juicy acidity and easy, dusty tannins. Refreshing at cellar temperature (or a light chill).
Fermented with the intention of lighter extraction to keep things fresh and lively, and blended prior to elevage in neutral oak barrels and tank. No inoculations or additions apart from minimally effective sulfur.
This bottling was named after a story from John W. Campbell Jr. called “Who Goes There?” that was later made into John Carpenter’s 1982 masterpiece “The Thing." Fruit is from an organically farmed vineyard near Red Bluff, California.
