A brilliant shade of gold in the glass, this is whistle clean, with fine tannins framing complex flavors of tangerine, menthol and spice.
The grapes spend a week on the skins in concrete tanks for fermentation before moving to neutral oak for 1 year of aging with monthly stirring of the lees. Fermentation is spontaneous, no additives are used, and the wine is bottled unfined & unfiltered.
The vines are up to 60 years old and planted on steep hillsides at around 1300ft of elevation. The soils are mainly clay with small amounts of limestone. Ezio’s vineyards stand out in the area because of how green and lush they remain when all his neighbors sites have turned brown. Wildflowers and native grasses grow in-between the vines to promote biodiversity and to provide vital nutrients to the soil.
