This Trousseau is light-bodied but doesn’t compromise complexity; notes of dried herbs and Szechuan pepper come through the red fruit and light tannins, keeping you on your toes.
Variety: 100% Trousseau

Location: Sierra Foothills, CA
Alcohol: 12.6%
Production: 190 cases
Ready-to-party red wine of summer. Light in body but with real depth and concentration, with grip and a riot of aromatics and flavors; this is a red wine you can hill before drinking and pairs with just about any kind of food (or none at all). Aromas of cranberry, strawberry, Szechuan pepper and dried herbs, finished off by a tight tannic structure.
No new oak was utilized, and nothing was added to the must or wine with the exception of minimal effective SO2. Wine was bottled unfined & unfiltered.
From the Rorick estate vineyard in Calaveras County, where there were experimental plantings of Trousseau until the 1920s. This comes from cuttings dating back to those original vines, reviving a little piece of California’s history.
