Nate Ready of Hiyu Wine Farm is a Master Sommelier turned farmer and winemaker. The farm itself is located in Oregon’s Hood River Valley and Columbia Gorge. Ready is guided by nature, focusing on biodiversity and sustainability in the field and in the cellar, and using minimal intervention practices in both. The farm is teeming with animals who are in charge of all vegetation control, and Hiyu sprays less material than a typical organic or biodynamic vineyard. Rather than single varieties, Hiyu produces complex, elegant and aromatic wines that are made from twelve complex field blends with their own unique themes.
