Highest vineyard on Lamole hill, 550 meters above sea level in broken down sandstone soils. The Grassi family were already producing wine and olive oil in the 1600s on the slopes of the famous hill of Lamole, in the heart of today’s Chianti Classico region, just above Greve. In 2000, sisters Susanna and Maddalena Grassi set about creating Agricola I Fabbri from the family’s holdings. Today, Susanna directs and maintains the vineyards, which are among the very highest in Chianti, lending an elegance and restraint to the wines. Certified organic wines through natural fermentation without any inoculated yeast and are aged in their centuries-old cellar in neutral wood and cement.
