This light but structured red wine is made from Freisa, a variety native to Italy. Expect grippy tannins along with a tart berry core and flavors of tea and tobacco.

Akin to Nebbiolo it keeps its acid and has a strong tannin profile making it a wine built for ageability. Tobacco and tea spiced with a tart strawberry core.
All foot stomped and fermented whole cluster in concrete tanks but moved to neutral barrique for a year to soften the tannin profile then bottle aged for another 6 months prior to the release.
Planted in 1994 and organically farmed in San Benito. Gravelly loam soils of an alluvial fan situated next to the Tres Pinos Creek where it takes its name. Known as the wild and rustic kin of the famed Nebbiolo, Freisa was oft thought of as an underdog to the more popular Nebbiolo and fruitier Dolcetto and Barbera of the region, but plantings of Freisa are on the rise again.
