Location: Santa Ynez Valley, CA
Alcohol: 13.5%
This wine features deep and dark aromas of peppercorn, black raspberries, violets, iodine, and kalamata olive, with vibrant acidity and long-lasting tannins that deliver energy.
Hand-harvested and co-fermented. Syrah is 100% whole cluster with 5% Viognier grapes. The wine spent 14 days on the skins before being pressed and then transferred to neutral French oak barrels to age for 10 months. Minimal sulfur was added for stability before bottling without fining or filtration.
The Syrah grapes for this wine come from two different sites within a couple miles of each other in Santa Ynez: the Pace Vineyard and Rusack Vineyard. The Pace Vineyard, a small backyard family vineyard Natalie and Ryah of Outward farm with Ryan’s father and industry veteran, Randy, was planted by Ryan’s family in 2000.
