A generous nose of blackberries, violets, bacon fat, and herbs de Provence that carry into the palate laden with supple tannins and a lengthy finish.
The Syrah featured a blend of barrels including 100% destemmed Syrah as well as another lot that was fermented carbonically. The Vaccarèse was fermented with 50% whole clusters, while the Mourvèdre was fermented with 30% whole cluster. After 6 months in neutral oak, the wine was bottled with minimal sulfur and without fining or filtration.
This vintage includes select barrels of 60% Syrah from Starfire, farmed by the winery, 30% Vaccarèse from Old Oak Vineyard, and 10% Mourvèdre from Rancho Arroyo Grande.
