Fermented with native yeasts in French oak barrels and large-format foudre. Wine was then aged in neutral French oak barrels and one 200L foudre with extended aging on fine lees.\n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003eVineyard\u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e This wine is a blend of two Amador County vineyards. The first was planted in 1979 and grown at 1500ft in a mixture of iron rich volcanic, quartz and decomposed granite soils. Vines are head-trained, dry-farmed and own-rooted.
