A medium-bodied, high-toned Chardonnay with citrus peel and salted almond notes backed by minerality.

Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Vineyard: Bien Nacido Vineyard, Block I
Location: Santa Maria Valley, CA
Alcohol: 12.5%
Production: 196 cases

Salted almonds, crushed stone, white blossoms and lemon peel on the nose. It’s medium-bodied, super satiny and bright with savory bass tones and a long, energetic and nuanced finish.

Whole cluster pressed, oxidative juicing, native yeast barrel fermentation in neutral French oak. Aged on lees for 16 months in barrel before being bottled unfined & unfiltered.

Vines were planted in 1973 on their own roots. Scar of the Sea sources fruit from environmentally conscientious growers at top-quality vineyard sites that are influenced by the sea with maritime soils and climates in the Central Coast of California.
