This chardonnay is like new world 1er Cru Chablis with its salty minerality and piquant fruit character. Smooth and round with clean, well-integrated acid and notes of lemon, granny smith apples, pineapples, toasted almond, light butterscotch, a kiss of oak and lemon zest.
Whole bunch pressed and then fermented with native yeast in neutral French oak barrels. Aged on lees for 19 months before its first racking right before bottling. Bottled with minimal sulfur and without filtration.
Grapes come from the old vines at the Rancho Vinedo Vineyard, planted in 1973. The grapes were farmed using organic farming practices and were picked for natural acidity before the defining heat waves of the vintage.
