Vibrant aromas of crushed red berries wild herbs and earthy spice with a palate of candied raspberry, blueberry, tea leaves and dried flowers. Bright and energetic with a mineral-driven structure, fresh acidity and subtle tannins.
50% whole cluster. Native fermentation began with punchdowns occurring twice daily. Grapes fermented 4 weeks before pressing in wooden basket press. Transferred to neutral French oak barrels for aging on fine lees 8 months. Racked to bottle without fining or filtering and with minimal sulfur.
Planted in 1918, 70 miles inland from Los Angeles and certified organic by CCOF. Lopez Vineyard is part of California history. The vines are farmed without irrigation in granite rocks and sandy soil.
