Subtle notes of crushed citrus leaf verge into rope lemon zest on the nose. This bone-dry Riesling has a very slender but smooth body, displaying overtones of conifer, citrus leaf and a smattering of pepper.

100% spontaneously fermented in stainless steel and raised on the lees, with 2% whole cluster for 9 months in stainless steel and 5% in neutral oak.

This Riesling comes from parts of the Pfaffenberg, lower terraces below the Schrek and from sites across the river in the Wachau. Braunsdorfer Vineyard is certified organic by LACON. When Urban and Dominique Stagård took over the family estate in 2006, they set straight to reimagining its potential. Their vision had four elements: reclaiming obscure vineyards, reexamining the possibilities of iconic sites, farming based on a close study of soils, and making wine by drawing on knowledge and techniques of the past.
