A fun, chillable red that defies the typical boundaries of Mourvèdre with its light red color and bright cherry and watermelon flavors. This wine is named after the winery’s newest goat, trouble, it will disappear in your glass and could cause a l’il trouble!

Variety: 100% Mourvèdre
Location: El Dorado County, CA
Alcohol: 10.3%
Production: 200 cases

A fun, chillable “glou glou” red, not what you normally expect from Mourvèdre which can produce powerful wines. A light red color with bright cherry and watermelon Jolly Rancher flavors, due to its early pick at low ripeness levels. Drink chilled on a hot summer day. The wine is named ‘L’il Trouble’ after Two Shepherds’ newest Nigerian Dwarf goat, Trouble. This super drinkable wine will disappear in your glass and could cause a l’il trouble!

Grapes were crushed and destemmed, then fermentation started via native yeast in ¾ ton bins. After 5 days, about 1/3 the normal maceration time, the grapes were pressed off the skins to finish fermenting and 7 months elevage in old neutral Frenach oak barrels.

The vineyards is planted in the “banana belt” region of El Dorado County which cools off nicely at night with air drainage to the American River. It’s at 1,650ft elevation, planted in decomposed granite soils and is sustainably farmed.
