A wine crafted to be fresh and vibrant, easy drinking with layered nuanced complexity. A fun introduction to skin contact wines, like a slightly salty rosé, with white ripe peach aromatics and flavor. The 2023 is slightly more tannic than previous vintages, leaning a little closer to a light orange wine.

Grapes are destemmed, crushed and left on the skins for 5 days in open small ¾-ton bins for the start of spontaneous fermentation on indigenous yeast. After 5 days, the wine was pressed off the skins into neutral French oak barrels to finish primary fermentation, then malolactic nnatively, for 8 months total elevage. Bottled unfined & unfiltered.

Fanucci-Wood Vineyard is located on about seven acres in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County. The 100-year-old vineyard has been hand-tended by the Fanucchi family for the last 29 years. This vineyard is home to the illusive Trousseau Gris grape, rarely seen in North America.
