Textured, opulent and forward. Though the wine is of Spätlese quality it perceivably drinks more like a Kabinett.
Fermented and aged in stainless steel.
Further east and upstream of the Klosterlay is the Magdalenenkreuz, where Leitz farms vines 30+ years in age. Here the soils are comprised of sandy loam. This vineyard is certified sustainable. Under the direction of Josi Leitz, Weingut Josef Leitz has earned the reputatuin of being one of Rheingau’s top growers and moreover, one of the finest producers in Germany.
